# Game Profiling

*"practice from the game, and for the game"* is an old adage, yet often ignored. A key step in developing players who can execute at the highest levels is to understand the demands of the game at those levels. Specifically this means understanding the context/situations that players will eXPerience, and thus effective practice design and player development is about building in those eXPeriences for players to eXPlore in practice.

Along with this, there is a need to benchmark eXPertise in these various contexts, for example at what clip do the best shooters knock down contested shots outside the arc?

You can do your own profiling of high level games using the ShootXP app (either AI-assisted, or by manual tagging in the app), and/or we can provide this profiling on an as-needs basis.

{% hint style="info" %}
Did you know that in the 2023 FIBA World Cup final between Germany and Serbia, only 10% of made shots from 15 feet and beyond were in situations where the shooter was stationary and uncontested?

**That means ****90% of made shots**** were in dynamic situations where the shot was ****contested**** and/or the ****shooter was on the move****...**
{% endhint %}

Does your practice reflect this? Are you designing the right eXperiences for these game situations? Are players eXPloring, eXPerimenting, and gaining eXPertise in these situations?

ShootXP can help you answer in the affirmative to all these questions.
